Along with the solo exhibition of Arne Isacsson this selection from the museum’s collection pays homage to the watercolour medium. We have selected eight artists who in different ways have come to symbolize the museum’s work with watercolour as a tool for contemporary art. Some of them paint traditionally, others create conceptually. Someone is a dedicated watercolour connoisseur, someone else is emerging as a materials pluralist. Some works have been part of the museum’s collection since the beginning, some are newly acquired. All works are, however, proof of the unlimited potential of watercolor and its impact on the contemporary art scene.
Participating artists: Solveig Aðalsteinsdottir, Mats Gustafson, Kati Immonen, Martin Jacobson, Michael Kvium, Lars Lerin, Julie Nord and Maria Nordin.
