Learn more about the art! The museum guides provide a personal in-depth study of the art and the artists presented in the exhibition. The tours are included in the entrance fee and are presented in collaboration with&nbsp;Folkuniversitetet.Please note that the guided tour is held in Swedish.

Allmän visning

The aim of the spring exhibition&nbsp;Beyond the Lines is to draw attention to the potential of picture books to reach children and adults alike. Anna Höglund, Pija Lindenbaum and Ida Sundin Asp are three picture book creators who curiously tackle all aspects of life. Their stories include both darkness and light, order and chaos, humour and seriousness. They don’t shield the reader from what’s difficult. Curious to paint? In the&nbsp;Open Studio, both children and adults are welcome to try on watercolours.&nbsp;Admission free, limited number of seats. The guided tour for families is a playful way to experience the exhibition and together we head out on a journey to discover the world of picture books. The tour is specially designed to suit our younger visitors, but all ages are welcome to attend!The tour is included in the entrance fee, free admission for everyone under 26 years. Familjevisningen är ett lekfullt sätt att uppleva utställningen på och tillsammans går vi på upptäcktsfärd i bilderbokens värld. Visningen är särskilt utformad för att passa våra yngre besökare, men alla åldrar är välkomna att delta! Ingen föranmälan krävs.&nbsp;Visningen ingår i entréavgiften, fri entré för alla under 26 år. Längd cirka 30 min.&nbsp;&nbsp; Familjevisningarna äger rum under sportlovet tisdag 14 februari och torsdag 16 februari kl. 14. Enjoy art online – join a guided tour from home! Ask your questions in real time and learn more about the art with one of the museum’s art educators.The tour is broadcast live on The Nordic Watercolour Museum’s Facebook page and lasts about ten minutes. Watercolours obeys the laws of nature and by understanding these laws we can learn to capture the artistic expressions we seek.In this course we will go in depth on how watercolour painting works, by investigating why paint, water and paper behave the way they do together. We alternate painting exercises with experiments. Course leader Alexandra Walsh is a visual artist in Gothenburg and holds a doctorate in chemistry. Alexandra uses her background in science to create and talk about watercolour from a more artisanal perspective. With the help of chemistry and physics, she manipulates the watercolour paint in innovative ways, which results in an expression that is not found among other contemporary Nordic artists.

Watercolour knowledge – the interplay between water, paper and paint

Babies and adults are welcome to The Nordic Watercolour Museum to create art together. Let's create blueberry purple creative chaos! Flying blueberries is an experimental workshop for the very smallest children (6–24 months) and their accompanying adults.Pre-booking is required.Admission: 120 SEK per booking The price includes materials and entry to the museum's exhibitions during the day. Payment takes place on the booking page.Booking: Information about booking will be updated (Your booking refers to one adult/child couple. One booking = one child 6–24 months + adult) Cancellation is made through the booking page.<hr><h2 style="margin-left:0px;">PRACTICAL INFORMATION</h2>Materials &amp; Clothing We will play and paint with blueberries, water and paper on a large floor area in the workshop room on the upper floor of the museum. Blueberries are both non-toxic and edible – it's the perfect colouring material for babies who like to explore everything by putting it in their mouths. Blueberries also have strong pigments that leaves beautiful stains, so remember to dress your child in comfortable clothes that are allowed to get dirty! Also, consider bringing another set of clothes that your child can change into and wear after the workshop.Remember to arrive on time! It is important to arrive on time, at 10.30, to be admitted, as the workshop takes place before the museum opens to the public. There should be time for both preparation and debriefing within the allotted time. We finish the occassion by looking at a couple of art works in the current exhibition together.Lift / Changing table / Breastfeeding An elevator to the upper floor is available for those who want to bring a pram up to the workshop. Changing tables are available in the HWC on the lower level. A kettle for boiling water is available in the workshop, but there is no microwave. A sofa where one can breastfeed is available on the upper floor of the museum.

Blåbär är både giftfritt och ätbart – perfekt målarmaterial för bebisar som gärna undersöker allt genom att stoppa det i munnen. Blåbär har dessutom starkt pigment som ger vackra fläckar – tänk därför på att klä ditt barn i oömma kläder som får bli smutsiga! Tänk också på att ta med ytterligare en uppsättning kläder som ditt barn kan byta till och ha på sig efteråt.&nbsp;Tänk på att komma i god tid!&nbsp; Det är viktigt att komma i tid, kl. 10.30, för att bli insläppt, då verkstaden pågår innan museet öppnar för allmänheten. Tanken är att det skall finnas tid till både förberedelser och eftersnack inom ramen för den avsatta tiden. Vi avslutar tillsammans och tittar på ett par verk i aktuell utställning.&nbsp;Hiss / Skötbord / Amning &nbsp; Hiss till övre plan finns för den som vill ta med sig barnvagn upp till verkstaden. Skötbord finns i HWC på nedre plan. Vattenkokare finns att låna i verkstaden, dock finns ingen mikrovågsugn. En soffa där man kan sitta och amma finns på museets övre plan.&nbsp;

The all-day workshop The movement of the line is, as the title reveals, about lines and movement. We start the day by looking at and being inspired by the current exhibition at the museum. We then enter the workshop room, where we will combine intuitive dance and body movements with image creation during the day.Participants will be guided through the various exercises of the day and there are no performance requirements. We allow our bodies to follow the lines of the black charcoal onto its unknown paths and the watercolour paint will take part in its own way as we use our sight, hearing and body when we perform drawing and movement exercises during the day. No previous knowledge is required in either dance or art. The workshop is led by Ann-Charlotte Fogel and Jonte Nynäs. Ann-Charlotte Fogel is an artist and certified dance teacher, as well as body and movement therapist. Jonte Nynäs is an art educator at The Nordic Watercolour Museum.

Heldagsworkshopen Linjens rörelse handlar om just det som titeln avslöjar – om linjer och rörelse. Vi börjar dagen med att titta på och låta oss inspireras av aktuell utställning. Därefter går vi in i kurslokalen, där vi under dagen kombinerar intuitiv dans och kroppsrörelser med bildskapande.&nbsp;Du som deltar kommer på ett tydligt sätt att ledas genom dagens olika moment och det finns inga krav på prestation. Våra kroppar får följa det svarta kolets linjer ut på okänd mark och akvarellfärgen kommer att samverka på sitt eget sätt då vi under dagen använder oss av synen, hörseln och kroppen när vi utför tecknings- och rörelseövningar. Familjevisningen är ett lekfullt sätt att uppleva utställningen på och tillsammans går vi på upptäcktsfärd i bilderbokens värld. Visningen är särskilt utformad för att passa våra yngre besökare, men alla åldrar är välkomna att delta! Ingen föranmälan krävs.&nbsp;Visningen ingår i entréavgiften, fri entré för alla under 26 år. Längd cirka 30 min.&nbsp;&nbsp; Familjevisningarna äger rum under påsklovet tisdag 11 april och torsdag 13 april kl. 14.

The collection is a crucial and vital part of the museum's activities, both in exhibitions and in art education work. One of the Nordic Watercolor Museum's goals is to make the watercolor technique visible as a living and aesthetically powerful element in our contemporary visual culture. We start from the possibilities of watercolor and spread knowledge about how artists today and in history used water and pigments to create art.
