info
Over the past ten years, Johan Airijoki has toured extensively across Sweden, from north to south, while steadily releasing a string of studio albums. His work is rooted in both a down-to-earth sense of familiarity and a sharp, often wry perspective on society. Audiences have followed and grown alongside Airijoki throughout his career. Over the years, he has also collaborated with a number of acclaimed artists, including The Tallest Man on Earth, Moonica Mac and Arvid Nero.
His critically acclaimed album Rockens vingar (“The Wings of Rock”), released in autumn 2025, explored a broad spectrum of genres, including rock and country, united by a warm, organic sound. Alongside his musical explorations, Airijoki emphasises the importance of humour in his songwriting:
“Where I come from in the north, people have a dark sense of humour – very dark, in fact – and I think that has shaped my writing a great deal. It’s present, almost like a crooked smile. That’s something I really like.”
We look forward to welcoming Johan Airijoki as the first Grund artist of the autumn season!

GÅ PÅ GRUND! ('RUN AGROUND')
The concept behind "Grund" is produced by Tjörn Municipality and The Nordic Watercolour Museum since 2016. The idea is to offer a broad spectrum of music by exciting artists in an intimate setting at a great price. We believe in exciting encounters between the musician, audience and natural surroundings, where flashy stage shows are not allowed to get in the way of the music. And we believe that is an excellent ground on which to stand. / Previous artists: Moto Boy, Steget, Emil Jensen, GERD, Alice Boman, Arvid Nero, Iiris Viljanen, Loney dear, Bror Gunnar Jansson, Christian Kjellvander, Kristofer Åström, Maja Francis, Franska Trion, Mattias Alkberg, Sophie Zelmani, José Gonzáles, El Perro Del Mar, Mikael Wiehe, Vasas Flora & Fauna, Jens Lekman, Joel Alme, Frida Hyvönen, Anna Järvinen, Marit Bergman, Hanna Järver, Edda Magnasson och Niki & the Dove
