Welcome to take part in an experience that can be seen, heard and felt!
Gathering ("Sammankomst") explores the power of community through the timeless line dance The Electric Slide. It is a celebration of spontaneous and individual expression through dance. Step into a vibrant world of movement that invites participation – a symphony of expression, a sea of bodies, light and shadow. Flowing energy, joy and togetherness create a deep sense of well-being. Be inspired by the power of dance and reflect on the importance of being part of something greater than yourself. Boundaries between people dissolve in a wordless sense of togetherness.
Take part in your own way, according to your circumstances. You are part of the whole, however you choose to participate.
Gathering premiered in 2024 at Malmö Sommarscen. Behind Gathering is the Malmö-based dance artist Maria Naidu. For almost 40 years, she has nurtured a passion for dance and worked to make it accessible to a wide audience. Since her choreographic debut in 1989, Maria Naidu has created 38 original works, which have been performed in 14 countries across five continents.
Duration: 60 minutes
Please note that the performance takes place outdoors, in front of the entrance to The Nordic Watercolour Museum.
