Bohuskust – ett vresigt paradis ("The Bohus Coast – a grumpy paradise") from 2018 is a nature documentary that searches for the soul of the Bohus coast during four seasons. The film takes the viewer on a kayaker's personal journeys and experiences in the unique coastal landscape.
The documentary focuses on animals and nature, but also on historical events such as the herring periods and the quarrying industry that have marked the barren coastal landscape and whose traces are still evident. Meetings with crayfish and lobster fishermen, scientists and others who's field of work is nature itself paints a different picture of coastal life than the one that vacationers encounter during the summer. Beach litter and other environmental threats are important features. The film wants to inspire viewers to make their own discoveries and provide knowledge about the rich landscape.
Bohuskust is special in its genre. The ambition is to create presence and a genuine sense of nature by sharing the sensory impressions that the visitor encounters in the coastal landscape. No music is imposed, instead the soundtrack from birds, sea, wind and lapping waves are allowed to play uninterrupted to enhance the feeling of nature.
Admission free, no pre-booking.
