The Nordic Watercolour Museum
25 years
Let's literally dip our toes into the artist's world of motifs during the museum's Art evening.
The surrounding archipelago of The Nordic Watercolour Museum is a stupendous setting for Carin Ellberg’s art. It’s as if the works were interacting with the environment and as if the sea was not only outside but also within the artist herself. Some motifs are reoccurring and include imaginative shapes reminiscent of sea shells, jellyfish, octopuses and seaweed – things that might be washed up on from the sea.
Let’s literally dip our toes into the artist’s world of motifs.
In connection with the exhibition titled It may be something the sea lays at my feet, we’d like to invite you to a cold dip in the surrounding sea. The experience connects art and nature and the cold enhances the feeling.
On the same evening (Wednesday 25 January) there are lots of exciting activities happening at the museum, as we invite you to an Art evening in the middle of the week together with the Friend's Association, Vatten Restaurang & Kafé and Tjörn municipality. Among other things, visitors can join a guided tour with the museum's art educator and participating artists before our joint cold bath. The cafe is open in the evening, so afterwards you can buy a cup of tea to warm up with. Click here to see the entire program for the evening.
Bring what you need for a comfortable and safe swim. There are no changing rooms at The Nordic Watercolour Museum, instead change to swimwear in the restrooms. After the bath, it’s nice to have warm clothes and a bathrobe to wrap yourself in. Please remember prepare for a safe swim and that you participate at your own risk.
The event is admission free, but you need to pay entrance to the exhibitions on site.
Limited number of participants, pre-booking required.
