ABOUT
Comedian, artist, presenter, designer, scriptwriter, and lecturer – Peter Apelgren is a creator with many branches on his tree. Armed with humor and endless curiosity, he constantly explores new areas and challenges his own limits.
At the age of ten, Peter Apelgren moves from Gothenburg to Ucklum outside Stenungsund. During this time, the artist within Peter emerges, and at the age of 13, his art teacher helps him to arrange his first solo exhibition. The same art teacher is said to have collected the works that Peter created during his school years to serve as the foundation for Peter's future path in the art world. Unfortunately, the works are misplaced after being handed over to his mother on the last day of school, and Peter is instead encouraged to become an electrician.
In the late 1970s, Peter Apelgren begins working as an assistant to the German artist Jo Erich Kuhn, a collaboration that will continue until Peter is accepted at the Scuola d'Arte in Florence. After his studies, Peter moves to Gothenburg and founds the art group Styltisterna. In the 1990s, Peter gets his own studio and simultaneously begins a career as a comedian and actor in radio and television.
The lecture is held in collaboration with FILA Nordic.
