Exhibition opening on June 1 at 11 am–2 pm
In the works of Malou Larsson, we encounter figures from Vråskogen. In a moisture-laden landscape, they offer dialogues and symbiosis between the viewer, the figures, and the forest. Sculptures grow from their nests in the floor, standing powerfully positioned in a circle, an invitation under a black night. The weight of the artistic process is shaped by the kiln's final firing, where the creatures are awakened from body to living being through a ritual. During the night.
Kristina Thun's visual stories explore everyday life as it is happening right now. In many of the works, there are figures – sometimes with their gazes turned to the side or towards the viewer, but most often turned inward into the pictorial space. Fragments of everyday objects such as a chair or a coffee cup are given the same value as a person or a tree. The scenography is often built up through an intuitive collage work where the image's story is allowed to build itself. The examination of objects' distorted size in comparison to one another is central to the work process.
