Tracks is a dance performance that uses the vocabulary of street dance to create something humorous, warm and deeply moving.
A track can be a song, a groove or a path. A path on which to lose your way, and tracks to follow in the search for "the right track". It can also be the stylus following the groove of a vinyl record, the sounds created by specks of dust, producing that familiar crackle. A reminder of the pre-digital world. The analogue era before we became wireless. Back when cables connected us, when tangled wires created a sense of community. Tracks reminds us that the future always offers opportunities to change direction and build something different.
Yared Tilahun Cederlund and Viktor Fröjd have worked together for many years on several acclaimed productions. In Tracks, it is rhythm, mystery and their friendship that shine through.
