Lupin, Japanese knotweed, Pacific oyster, and blue crab – but which other invasive species can you name? In this workshop, we depict species that are in the wrong habitat. Learn to recognise animals and plants that have gone astray along the Bohus coast. Together we will learn to identify invasive species and in doing so, we will do a great service to our natural environment.

The workshop is part of the project In the Wrong Habitat – A Week Against Invasive Species. For the first time in Sweden, about twenty organisations in West Sweden are jointly addressing the problem of invasive alien species in our country. Initiated by Nordens Ark, the first week of June is dedicated to spreading knowledge, inspiring, and engaging the public on this issue. Throughout the week, exciting activities are organised from Strömstad in the north to Gothenburg in the south – all with a focus on invasive alien species.
Private individuals play a crucial role in stopping the spread of invasive alien species. It mainly involves doing the right thing when encountering them. To do this, one must learn to recognise them. Read more on the website of Naturvårdsverket ("The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency") by clicking here.
