info
It’s time for the local opening of the Göteborg Film Festival in Skärhamn! On Friday 23 January, join us for mingling, sparkling drinks and the opening film.
The festival’s opening film this year is Biodlaren (The Quiet Beekeeper), directed by Marcus Carlsson. Biodlaren is a quiet yet deeply moving drama about a father and a daughter who, in different ways, carry a shared grief. With a gentle touch, the film portrays both the everyday and the existential – from the hum of the beehive to a relationship on the brink of collapse. It is a story about loss, silence and a longing for closeness, but also about the hope that can grow when one dares to face difficulties. The film is set in the small community of Åmotfors in Värmland, Sweden, and Adam Lundgren delivers an outstanding performance as the beekeeper Olof.
The screenplay is written by Marcus Carlsson and Adam Lundgren. The cast also includes Hedvig Nilsson, Marika Lindström, Julia Schacht, Sara Arne, Judith Blix, Linnéa Cart-Lamy, Magnus Sundberg, Isabelle Grill, Mindie Mendel, Antti Reini and Christina Lindberg.
