info
Steget’s songs circle revolve around the things we all carry with us: losses, hope, betrayal and love. Everything you’ve felt, and everything you’ve tried to make sense of – both about yourself and others. We recognise the melodies, the raw guitar sounds, Matilda’s heartfelt vocals and Nils’s evocative piano, but we also hear echoes of legends like Joni Mitchell, Gladys Knight and The Band. It feels familiar, yet entirely fresh.
The duo describe their music as follows:
“Musically, we’re often drawn to the rawness of punk and rock. The direct and powerful. The fearless and unruly. We love when music feels like pure energy. That has always inspired us, and it’s something we’ve wanted to bring out even more on this album. To dare to do slightly more unexpected things – to develop further and immerse ourselves more deeply in the music itself.”
In 2023, Steget released their acclaimed third album Ösregn & Kärlek. Several singles received extensive radio play in both Sweden and Norway, and the record was awarded no less than five stars by the magazine Göteborgs-Posten. This spring, their new album Till längtan och horisonten was released, also to glowing reviews.
We look forward to an atmospheric November evening when Steget take to our Grund stage here at The Nordic Watercolour Museum!

GÅ PÅ GRUND! ('RUN AGROUND')
The concept behind "Grund" is produced by Tjörn Municipality and The Nordic Watercolour Museum. The idea is to offer a broad spectrum of music by exciting artists in an intimate setting at a great price. We believe in exciting encounters between the musician, audience and natural surroundings, where flashy stage shows are not allowed to get in the way of the music. And we believe that is an excellent ground on which to stand. / Emil Jensen, GERD, Alice Boman, Arvid Nero, Iiris Viljanen, Loney dear, Bror Gunnar Jansson, Christian Kjellvander, Kristofer Åström, Maja Francis, Franska Trion, Mattias Alkberg, Sophie Zelmani, José Gonzáles, El Perro Del Mar, Mikael Wiehe, Vasas Flora & Fauna, Jens Lekman, Joel Alme, Frida Hyvönen, Anna Järvinen, Marit Bergman, Hanna Järver, Edda Magnasson och Niki & the Dove
