Ann-Mari Didoff (1920–2013) was an artist and educator who studied at the University College of Arts, Crafts & Design in Stockholm. Her work includes many images from nature. However, she was never a plein air painter. Rather, she worked out her subject from memory. Didoff devoted herself to studying light. Her images often feature the interplay between darkness and light. A trip to Crete resulted in work with characteristic Mediterranean colours. The islands and cairns of the west coast were a recurring source of inspiration. The scenery and its individual components have been immortalised in sensual watercolours and charcoals.
