Anu Tuominen was born in 1961 at Lemi in Finland. She has Master of Arts degrees from the Department of Interior Architecture and Furniture Design, University of Art and Design (UIAH) and the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki. Tuominen ranks today as one of Finland’s most admired conceptual artists, with a busy exhibition activity in Finland and abroad. Tuominen won the Grand Prize at the Mänttä Art Festival 1995. In 2003 she was awarded the Ars Fennica Prize and is now recognised throughout Europe, the USA and Japan. Her art is represented in leading museum collections in Finland and elsewhere.
