Lars Holmström
- Finland, 1949

Lars Holmström is known for his terse, elegant compositions with geometric designs. His constructivist works emphasize pure configurations, which he explores in paintings, prints, reliefs, sculptures and architectural structures. Holmström often works serially with problems relating to colour and form, exploring them with superimposed squares or twisting diagonals. These deceptively straight-forward visual forms engage the viewer’s eye inducing us to look for systems and deviations. Holmström employs a variety of materials and techniques. His abstract images are based on his own feelings and set of rules. Each work fulfills uncompromising requirements specifying a certain rhythm, pace or movement. Lars Holmström was educated at the Lahti Institute of Art.
