Peter Sternäng
- Swed, 1953

Peter Sternäng uses a variety of artistic techniques. He has made woodcuts, oil paintings and, more recently, expanded into digital painting. Works on paper have a special significance in his artistic probing. His watercolours have a characteristic emotional charge. The motifs are spontaneously garnered from mainland Greece and sunny Italy. The characteristic light radiates through and from Sternäng’s paintings. People are portrayed in atmospheric scenes, and objects are set in different, sometimes enigmatic interiors. Peter Sternäng’s works are consistently figurative. His palette is mainly in warm tones. Drawing and composition are as important as colour. In recent years, Sternäng has successfully experimented with painting and digital technology. Peter Sternäng was educated at the Brage School of Art in Umeå, the Forum School of Painting and Sculpture and the Forum School of Graphics, both in Malmö.
