Hasse Karlsson
- Sweden, 1952
Hasse Karlsson was trained at KV Konstskola in Gothenburg and Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. He was also a student of the artist and educator Arne Isacsson. Karlsson has made several painting trips, to places like Iceland, Antarctica and parts of Africa. He is inspired by vast landscapes, abandoned farms and car wreck interiors. He usually paints in environments where the colour scale corresponds to what he feels within. He uses different brushes and lets the colour flow freely on the paper. Something that initially seems abstract eventually finds its form and expression in the flow of colour. To Hasse Karlsson, watercolour painting implies the ability to tame pigments in harmony with nature.
