Jytte Rex
- Denmark, 1942

Jytte Rex today has a wide range of artistic activities, spanning film, photography, literature and painting. Symbols, her own memories and stories from the entire Western cultural history are themes that she blends into her creative work. She often works on her paintings with colour and drawing in layers upon layers. In the late 1970s, her art took on a more political and socially engaged appearance. She both created her own art and organized groundbreaking exhibitions, actions and events in support of women’s rights. Jytte Rex works with a range of techniques, such as pen and ink drawings, acrylics and graphics, where she combines painting, photography and objects. Rex has also published books on feminism and written novels. Jytte Rex was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
