Mika Törönen
- Finland, 1968

The city life often returns to Mika Törönen’s paintings. He captures the timeless atmosphere of street life with cars and trams on the go, raindrops reflecting in the asphalt and colour changing house facades. Man is a staffage figure here. The artist also works with nature motifs and portraits. His human studies arise during work with models, but photographs can also be models. Mika Törönen has studied painting at Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney, Australia. He is active as a teacher in watercolour technology, although he is self-taught in the field. He was previously chairman of the board of the Finnish Watercolour Society.
