Thordénrummet: Lars Lerin
In Thordénrummet ("the Thordén room") , we encounter a series of four watercolours by Lars Lerin. The paintings depict stuffed birds from natural history museums. Lerin knows the temperament and movements of the watercolour technique, its strengths and weaknesses. In his watercolours there are traces not only of his hands but also of his heart and mind.
In an interview in the news paper Göteborgs-Posten in 2014, Lars Lerin says says the following about motifs with the stuffed birds:
"There really is no difference between us, birds and humans. It could just as well be us sitting there behind the glass window and being watched by them. That we are the ones who rule ... well, we've sort of appointed ourselves dictators over the globe. And that's not very nice.”
