“How do you write a museum’s history from within?”
That is the question posed by curator and writer Joanna Persman in the short essay she has written to mark the museum’s 25th anniversary. Rather than counting exhibitions, programmes or works in the collection, she turns her gaze to what is seldom seen – the hours of preparation, the nails in the walls, and the furrowed brows of concentration.
