info
GRUND turns 10! To celebrate, we are delighted to welcome back one of the artists who took part in the early days of the successful concert series at The Nordic Watercolour Museum – none other than Frida Hyvönen.
With her distinctive voice, brilliant lyrics and piano-driven melodies, Hyvönen has captivated audiences ever since her critically acclaimed debut album Until Death Comes was released in 2005. Since then, she has released a further four studio albums. Her album Kvinnor och barn (“Women and Children”, 2016), the first she recorded in Swedish, was universally praised by both audiences and critics and was widely predicted to become a modern classic.
On her most recent album, Dream of Independence (2021), Hyvönen returned to singing in English. Her distinctive style – featuring both intimate and sweeping piano melodies, infused with melancholy, drama and a touch of humour – remained instantly recognisable.
Over the years, Hyvönen has received several Swedish Grammy Awards, both as a lyricist and a composer. She has also continued to expand her artistic practice by composing music for theatre and dance productions.
Frida Hyvönen gave a magical performance on our Grund stage in the summer of 2017. Now, as Grund celebrates its tenth anniversary, we are delighted to welcome her back once again. The Friday evening will also feature special festivities and activities to mark the anniversary. (Further programme details will be updated)

GÅ PÅ GRUND! ('RUN AGROUND')
The concept behind "Grund" is produced by Tjörn Municipality and The Nordic Watercolour Museum since 2016. The idea is to offer a broad spectrum of music by exciting artists in an intimate setting at a great price. We believe in exciting encounters between the musician, audience and natural surroundings, where flashy stage shows are not allowed to get in the way of the music. And we believe that is an excellent ground on which to stand. / Previous artists: Johan Airijoki, Moto Boy, Steget, Emil Jensen, GERD, Alice Boman, Arvid Nero, Iiris Viljanen, Loney dear, Bror Gunnar Jansson, Christian Kjellvander, Kristofer Åström, Maja Francis, Franska Trion, Mattias Alkberg, Sophie Zelmani, José Gonzáles, El Perro Del Mar, Mikael Wiehe, Vasas Flora & Fauna, Jens Lekman, Joel Alme, Frida Hyvönen, Anna Järvinen, Marit Bergman, Hanna Järver, Edda Magnasson och Niki & the Dove
