Christmas holiday workshop
When the winter light rests softly on the landscape and the stillness allows our imaginations to flourish, we let colour take centre stage. Every brushstroke could be the start of a fairy tale. We draw inspiration from the imaginative imagery of Peter Köhler and the poetic art of Johan Thurfjell, where reality meets dreams and memories and stories take shape. The studio is open from 27 December to 7 January between 11 am and 3 pm, except from the days when the museum is closed. Read more
Would you rather create by yourself? Welcome to Konstpausen, where you will find a workshop area for anyone who wants to try – or delve deeper into – the medium of watercolour pencils. The workshop is unstaffed and open during the museum’s regular hours.
Merry Christmas from The Nordic Watercolour Museum!

Until 25 January 2026 • Johan Thurfjell's works are infused with craftsmanship. He paints, builds and carves wood sculptures with mechanical parts that perform simple repetitive movements. His skillful treatment of paper and various pigments is unmistakable.
