New programme series between islands
- Updated
When was the last time you actively listened? To someone, to yourself – or to something?
Listening requires no prior knowledge, no tools and no preparation. When we listen, we direct our attention outwards, but also inwards. Other senses awaken, and we make space for someone or something else to be heard.
In the autumn of 2025, The Nordic Watercolour Museum on Tjörn, together with AiC on Orust, organised the programme weekend The Language of Listening, a kind of pilot project that is now returning in a new, yet familiar, form. We hereby present: the Listening.
The Listening is a recurring series of gatherings that takes place between islands – more specifically between Orust and Tjörn, between AiC (Artists in Coexistence) and The Nordic Watercolour Museum. We come together around the simple shared activity of listening together. You can take part on site every time or not at all, and still be part of the Listening. Listening can be practised anywhere, and for that reason digital letters from us are also part of the series (sign up with your email address here).
Now is the time for listening – join in!
