Mannen utan minne

info
In collaboration with Tjörn’s filmstudio, The Nordic Watercolour Museum marks Swedish Finns’ Day.
A man is travelling to Helsinki in search of work. He barely steps off the train before being robbed and severely beaten. When he regains consciousness, he has lost everything, including his memory. Without a name or identity, he must start his life from scratch. He ends up on the outskirts of the city, settling among its less affluent residents. In his tentative attempts to rebuild his life, he encounters true human kindness and great love. A simple yet profound story about the grandeur of life.
Mannen utan minne (“The Man Without a Past") won the Guldbagge Award for Best Foreign Film in 2002 and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Swedish Finns' Day
For several years, Swedish Finns’ Day has been celebrated on 24 February. The day was established to highlight the history, language, and culture of the Swedish-Finnish minority. Swedish Finns have a long history in Sweden and are considered the country’s largest minority group. At The Nordic Watercolour Museum, we mark the day in connection with our exhibition featuring Finnish picture book illustrators. There will be film screenings, a guided tour and the exhibitions will be open until 6.30 pm.
