Simon Gärdenfors is a versatile artist, known as a cartoonist, comedian, rapper and TV host. He has created drawings for the comic books Galago and Rocky Magasin, among others, and has been editor of Svenska Mad, Erni and Mega-Pyton. Gärdenfors draws short series and stories that sometimes have an autobiographical undertone. In the comic book Simons 120 dagar ("Simon's 120 days"), for example, he talks about his tour of Sweden and meetings with different people. The book Död kompis (“Dead Friend”) is a story about a prematurely lost friend. Gärdenfors’s bold design is inspired by candy packaging, labels and other mass-produced images. His stories, on the other hand, are a personal blend of the joys and sorrows of life.
