Kolbeinn Karlsson is an illustrator whose drawings are characterised by their sharp ink lines and distinctive colouring with surrounding patterns and structures. Karlsson’s visual narratives are populated with strange creatures that resemble the figures in legends and icons of pop culture. In 2009, he published his first book, Trollkungen, mixing stories about the wild west with the actual experiences of Tolkien’s dwarf Bombur after he had fallen into the Enchanted River. Karlsson is also known for his graphic works in the magazines Galago and Hjälp.
