FUSION
Fusion – a small word with many meanings. An art collection, like the one belonging to The Nordic Watercolour Museum, is a form of fusion. Individual works are united into a greater whole, just as they are in conjunction with group exhibitions. Artwork is shown in new constellations, sometimes expected and sometimes surprising.
For this exhibition, the museum has invited artists, that are already represented in its collection, to make new site specific works. Eleven artists, using very different artistic language, interact and unite in new ways. The exhibition oscillates between small and large, sugary sweet and unpleasant. It proves that watercolour art does not have one expression – it has several.
Participating artists: Katja Tukiainen, Sigga Björg Sigurðardóttir, Petri Hytönen, Adam Saks, Julie Nord, Arto Korhonen, Jukka Korkeila, Lars Lerin, Michael Kvium, Elina Merenmies, Astrid Svangren
