Salvador Dali
Salvador Dalí was one of the leading figures in modern art. Few have meant as much as Dalí for Modernism, and especially for the rise and development of Surrealism. For many, Dalí and Surrealism are synonymous. Salvador Dalí was a pioneer in many fields.
The exhibition displays watercolours and drawings loaned from the Fundacio Gala-Salvador Dalí and the Teatre-Museu Dalí in Figueres, Spain. Most of the works date from the 1940s when Dalí spent time in the US. They are original artworks illustrating three of literature’s classics: Cellini’s autobiography, de Montaigne’s essays and Cervante’s Don Quixote.
