The museum welcomes the great and varied fauna of art! We celebrate with a grand opening that has something for everyone. Discover botany, listen to birdsong, learn things you never knew about lobsters, paint a clump of bladder wrack, or talk about leopards. Summer begins on Sunday 7 May at The Nordic Watercolour Museum!
Free admission to the museum all day!

Program
11 am–5 pm / Look Closely!
A workshop where we use magnifying glasses and a basic microscope to examine and paint what we see in free-flowing watercolour.
11.30 am / Art safari with Nordens Ark
A guided tour for the whole family, in which learn more about the many species that are depicted in the exhibition.
11.30 am / Birds in Sweden by Öyvind Fahlström
Öyvind Fahlström's groundbraking audio artwork from 1962–63, where a composition of poem stanzas is intertwined with the invented languages “fåglo”, “birdo” and “whammo”, is presented and played three times during the day.
12 noon–4 pm / Create with Paper
A workshop where the paper artist Anna Hedenrud invites visitors to create works inspired by the newly opened exhibition.
12 noon–4 pm / Havets Hus' aquarium
In the saltwater aquarium, we can discover some of the fascinating species that live in the North Sea
12.30 pm / Lobsters and Eternity
A lecture with Simon Ekström who tells more about the lobster through art and history

A lecture with researcher and artist EvaMarie Lindahl on how she is working to highlight the involvement of animals in art history.
2 pm / Guided tour
A guided tour with one of the museum's art educators in the newly opened exhibition
3 pm / Reading with Teater Spera
A reading with the theater group Teater Spera, who offer a taste of their upcoming performance
