info
In the autumn of 2026, The Nordic Watercolour Museum will have the unique opportunity to present the first ever exhibition of Britta Marakatt-Labba’s works on paper. This opens up an entirely new perspective on her artistic practice. The exhibition comprises around 70 works, mainly watercolours and drawings, complemented by a selection of embroideries, sculptures and graphics. Marakatt-Labba has become internationally renowned for her extraordinary embroideries. Her motifs revolve around Sámi life in close relationship with nature, but also around colonialism, loss and resistance – about the face of racism, human greed and the lost lands once grazed by the animals.
