What happens in the brain when we look at art, create with colour and form, listen to music, or dance to our favourite song? With today’s advanced brain research, we now know that culture has powerful effects on the very “architecture of the brain”, and we are constantly learning more about the interplay between art and the brain’s plasticity. Research shows that culture does not merely touch us – it changes us.
“I have long said that culture is not to be trifled with. It has powerful biological effects.”
– Gunnar Bjursell (Modern Psychology, 18 November 2023)

About
What do neuroscience, AI, and education have to do with an art museum? Can a museum influence more than what fits within the frame? We present a series of digital jubilee lectures where we meet experts researching fields far beyond art. Together, we explore the question of what the role of an art museum is in a broader context.
