Michael Kvium’s Flora Danica (2004) presents a captivating series of one hundred portraits that intertwine colour and psychology. Echoing the Danish botanical atlas of the same name, these works show both remarkable similarities and intriguing differences.
The Nordic Watercolour Museum’s collection features a variety of artists who, with a rich diversity of styles, find inspiration in the human body and the fascinating expressions it conveys. Welcome upstairs to discover some of them.

From 13 October 2024 to 2 February 2025, an exhibition featuring the Swedish artist Christine Ödlund will also be on display. The presentation offers us the opportunity to reconsider our relationship with nature and plants and opens up a dialogue about the limits of what we see and experience.
The exhibition shows a selection from the museum collection of sketches for the printed books about Alfie Atkins. The exhibition is on display 13 October 2024–2 February 2025.

At The Nordic Watercolour Museum, we do not display a permanent exhibition of works from our collection. Instead, we continuously present selections from it. By focusing solely on temporary exhibitions, we can showcase a larger portion of our collection over time.
