This lecture puts the spotlight on the international art scene. Together, we take a closer look at a selection of prominent artists. We examine what kind of art is being shown at the most influential museums around the world today, and get to know some of the truly great names in the field. We take a closer look at the choice of motifs, representation of women artists, art’s place in the public space, and changes in the world of art from the 1960s onwards.
The lecture is held by Paula von Seth, artist and art educator at Moderna Museet Stockholm.
Admission free, pre-registration is required. Coffee and tea will be served.

Lectures on Contemporary Art 2024
The Nordic Watercolour Museum and Friends of The Nordic Watercolour Museum invite you to a series of lectures on the theme of Contemporary Art. The lecturer i provides insights into the kind of art that often requires more information than fits inside a frame. Refreshments will be provided by the museum, and there will also be opportunities to continue the discussion. All the lectures are on the main theme but can be enjoyed separately. Welcome to join like-minded art enthusiasts and gain some fascinating insights.

About the lecturer
Paula von Seth
Paula von Seth is an artist, art educator at the Moderna Museet, adjunct lecturer at Malmstens Linköping University, teacher in information design at Mälardalen University, and has previously served as a Swedish curator in international art collections/exhibitions. Educated at Umeå Art Academy, Konstfack, Royal Institute of Art, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and Lund University with a Bachelor's degree in art history.
