What are your opening hours?

Our regular opening hours are 11 am–5 pm daily during the summer season and 11 am–4 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, during the autumn, winter and spring seasons. During the summer of 2026, we’re open daily at 11 am–5 pm until 6 September. Please note that the museum might be closed during change of exhibitions between seasons. The museum is always closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Click here to view all opening hours.

How much does it cost to visit the museum's exhibitions?

Admission is 160 SEK during the summer season and includes an annual pass. During the rest of the year, admission is 80 SEK and does not include an annual pass.Visitors aged 25 and under always receive free admission.Click here to view discounted admission prices and related visitor information.

No, admission tickets are available for purchase at the museum reception upon arrival.

Can I book a guided tour for myself and my group?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer private guided tours for groups, including tours in English. We also offer digital guided tours that can be attended remotely.For more information, please contact jonte.nynas@akvarellmuseet.org.If you would like to join one of our free public guided tours, these are held on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 pm.

Can I get to the museum by public transport?

Yes. You can take the bus (Västtrafik) to Skärhamn. The nearest bus stop is Kommunhuset, Tjörn, about a 10–15 minute walk from the museum.

Where can I park?

Accepted Answer

There are 25 parking spaces and four accessible spaces outside the museum. Additional parking is available within walking distance along scenic routes along the way. Here you can find a map of nearby parking. More information about parking is available on the Tjörn Municipality website.

Can I charge my electric car nearby?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There are eight charging stations in the museum parking lot, where you can pay using the Wattif app. More information and locations of other nearby charging points can be found here.
